Expect practical research that may change the way we think about AI, education, accessibility, and creativity. Whether you’re a student, researcher, or UX professional, this event will spark new ideas and insightful discussions. Talks include:
1. MaRginalia: Enabling In-person Lecture Capturing and Note-taking Through Mixed Reality – Because looking down at your laptop should NOT mean missing the lecture.
2. Making the Write Connections: Linking Writing Support Tools with Writer's Needs – How well do writing support tools meet the needs of creative writers?
3. To Rely or Not to Rely? Evaluating Interventions for Appropriate Reliance on Large Language Models – When should we actually listen to ChatGPT? Spoiler: It’s complicated.
4. A Matter of Perspective(s): Contrasting Human and LLM Argumentation in Subjective Decision-Making on Subtle Sexism – Find out what perspectives LLMs take (and what they miss)
5. Users' Expectations and Practices with Agent Memory – How do users understand and interact with AI memory?
6. ELMI: Interactive and Intelligent Sign Language Translation of Lyrics for Song Signing – Meet ELMI, an AI-powered tool that helps translate lyrics into sign language with precision, rhythm, and emotion.
Register to attend in person or join remotely online (details will be provided to registrants). On-site attendees are welcome to stay afterwards for a casual social to connect with fellow UX enthusiasts. The event is free and open to everyone (no TorCHI membership required) but space is limited, so please register in advance.
